Aspire to Achieve

Chance Arts

We are a team of professional people working with children and families in West London and have been at Clifton Primary School for four years. We offer Integrative Arts Therapy in one to one sessions for children led by a fully qualified drama or music therapist or our early year’s specialist.

Where appropriate, we offer support to families and school staff.

Our arts programmes for children of all ages have been going for over 20 years for different groups in different places.

Chance Arts Under 5s

Play Sing and Move is our therapeutic arts programme for the children aged under 5 We know that babies and young children respond to music and particularly songs. Singing helps language to develop and improves communication, particularly between infants and their mothers. So, in our Play Sing and Move groups, led by experienced practitioners, we introduce songs and rhymes, and explore stories around journeys in order to assist the children to understand about their own journey. The activities encourage turn taking, sharing, confidence building for both parents and children. These groups are run in the local community and Miss Emma can give you details.

Chance Arts 5 – 8

Play Sing and More for early primary school classes (KS1) Play Sing and MORE is just that - Although similar to the under 5s programme, we add art and role play. The groups which are organised weekly, are built around songs, games, stories, role play and art. We hope in this way to build confidence and communication and ultimately improve the children’s educational outcomes. We ask teachers to tell us about vulnerable or anxious children when they first start school. We don’t usually include parents in these groups and limit the participants to 10. We plan to run this programme in the next academic year, depending on funding being secured.
