VOLUNTEERS AT CLIFTON PRIMARY SCHOOL

We welcome parents/carers and students to volunteer at Clifton Primary School to support our pupils. Volunteering at school is a rewarding experience and benefits the whole school community.

People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons.

  • For some it offers opportunities to give something back to the community.
  • For others it may provide an opportunity to develop new skills.
  • For the vast majority it is a requirement of a course.

The work carried out by volunteers could come in the form of helping in the classroom, during an after school club, at a fundraising event or during an educational visit.

Classroom assistant volunteers may help with any of the following:

  • Supporting the teacher to prepare for lessons
  • Listening to children read
  • Telling the children stories or reading to them
  • Supporting individual pupils
  • Supporting groups of children in all curriculum areas.

For the safety of all children, volunteer helpers will be subject to a DBS check.

Before being accepted as a student/volunteer at Clifton Primary School, you will be required to:

  • Complete a Volunteer Interest Form found below
  • Meet Miss Corrigan the Deputy Headteacher for Inclusion
  • Be acquainted with school procedures (Safeguarding, health & safety and behaviour procedures)
  • Apply for a DBS

If you are interested in volunteering at Clifton Primary School please express your interest by email and attach a Volunteer Interest Form to admin@cliftonprimary.ealing.sch.uk marked for the attention of the Deputy Headteacher, Miss Corrigan.

Further details may be obtained in our Volunteers/Students policy which is currently being developed.
