At Clifton our aim is to provide a quality science education where children learn in a safe, stimulating, and challenging environment. We aim to encourage the natural curiosity of our children and provide opportunities for them to explore and gain scientific knowledge both inside and outside of the classroom. Children’s experience of science will be purposeful with them learning through investigation. They will develop the ability to question and be able to reflect upon what they have discovered. They should be encouraged to understand how science can be used to explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave, and analyse causes.
This will enable children to connect their scientific knowledge to the world in which they live.
We follow the Science Bug Scheme of Work from Pearson. Throughout each unit of work, the pupils learn a variety of scientific concepts alongside investigative learning.
